Narok County faces significant poverty challenges, with 26.2% of the population, or approximately 323,000
people, living below the poverty line, and 27.5% (339,000 people) experiencing food poverty. Hardcore
poverty affects an estimated 27,000 individuals, representing 2.2% of the population. Poverty
disproportionately impacts female-headed and polygamous households, and those led by individuals with
no education.

To address the poverty challenges faced by vulnerable families in Narok County, this project aims to break
the cycle of poverty through a comprehensive approach that combines economic empowerment and
education. The solution will target 25 households, providing them with start-up capital and training onĀ
managing small enterprises to improve their financial stability. Additionally, 25 students from these
households will receive education sponsorship, ensuring they can access quality education and, in turn,
create opportunities for a better future.
The project will also conduct four awareness meetings with parents and stakeholders to emphasize the
importance of education, child protection, and economic empowerment. Specifically, the initiative will
focus on supporting five households of persons with disabilities, five households of widows, five
households of widowers, and 10 households of extremely poor families, including both monogamous and
polygamous households.
